I started finishing other people’s sentences at an early age and took every opportunity to help others tell their stories. The fact that I’m consistently surprised by what I discover keeps me looking for the next topic.

Trained as a classical actress at The Juilliard School, I learned the power of expressing raw facts in compelling fashion. My studies in Cultural Psychology at the Universidad de las Américas in Mexico gave me the tools to allow the full dimension of my subject’s story to emerge.

Although my first love is writing fiction, I’ve had commercial success with nonfiction. Collaborations with my aviation-photographer husband have produced articles for publications in the U.K. and the U.S.; the most recent for Smithsonian Air&Space magazine.

I often draw from my experience living overseas as an expat in Europe and Latin America. Living “in translation” is a unique challenge to expressing ideas and has broadened my perspective over time. My range of work spans from reporting and opinion columns in NYC metro area papers, translating materials for travel publications while living abroad, to the current realm of the blogosphere. Writing has always been and will remain the most anticipated part of an active day.
